After looking at the surface books from Microsoft, you'll notice that their main focus of creating such a device is entirely for productivity. They  are generally good and unique but the improvements and developments on the surface book 3 made it to be the best representative for the surface books.
The hardware design is very different from most laptops because it's built as a two in one device that is functioning as and tablet and laptop, it's a convertible device that allows the user to detach the screen.

The design makes it convenient for any type of work. For graphic design, drawing and writing with the surface book 3  is much better here, the screen can also be turned facing upwards with a little angulation to make it easier for the user to work with.
For typing, the  track pad and keyboard delivers very well in that aspect. The keyboard is slightly raised and nice key travel,one feature that makes this device unique is it's hinge. It still retains the same kind of hinge with the book 2; it well built and even stronger than anyone could expect it to be. It has a 5mp front facing camera and 8mp rear camera,the front camera is also used for authentication in conjunction with Windows hello.
The displays are sharp with good colour accuracy, Microsoft really did a alot of work on this convertible from the hardware to software improvements. 

Focusing on it's design and performance the surface book 3 can be used for video editing, typing documents, gaming, graphic design and other tasks.
