Most people especially students prefer taking notes and drawing with their tablets for various reasons, one being that it's convenient, easy and you'll explore alot of helpful features. Apart from students, artists and graphics designers make great use of tablets for their work
Working with these devices have turned and caused tremendous change in the art world and for individuals too.students make excellent use of this for sketching and sharing artistic ideas with their friends.
There are various factors or features that makes a tablet qualified for this task, there are:
-screen Size
- refresh rate
- stylus support
- good battery life
- processor
Screen size: Tablets with larger screen size are good for this task , it allows the user to have more space to work, personally I think ones with 10 and above would be great for such work
Refresh rate: it is simply the number of times in a second that a display hardware updates its buffer. Refresh rate is an important feature when it comes to pen input or stylus support, it determines how fast the pen or pencil support works
Stylus support: this is the mean feature everything about drawing and note taking is centered around pen or pencil input. The recent developments made has made it possible for tablets with no custom pen or pencil input can stut universal stylus. So with that, you can be productive and get your work done on the go .
Good battery life:. The battery life contributes alot the work.in the process of carrying out your work you have to be sure that your device has good battery life and capacity because the usability of the device is also determined by the strength of the battery. The screen light will always be on when taking notes, drawing or creating some art. Remember that the display alone drains up to fifty percent of the battery power. When companies increase the display of the mobile devices they also increase the battery life and capacity to keep everything at equilibrium.
Processor: what you should be looking out for in this area are the speed, processing efficiency and power consumption. It may sound or look little but drawing all the works discussed here take alot of energy and power to handle .we that said, tablets that must be used for these works must be very stonge and efficient
Here are the lists of tablets that are best for that:
_2020 Ipad pro: the 2020 iPad came in two sizes which is the 11 and 12.9 inches.
The 11inche model is equipped with Apple A12Z Bionic chip Octa-core Embedded M12
coprocessor, 28.65Wh Rechargeable lithium polymer battery
built-in (18W) and 120hz screen refresh rate plus the Apple pencil.
It has many other features but the for this subject matter we'll stick to these ones
The Apple pencil is very responsive, you won't notice any lag , it's almost like writing on a real paper but the main issue with this device is the price.
The 12.9 has almost the same features with the 11inche model appart from for the screen size and battery capacity.
Most iPads are good for taking notes and drawing but the I just picked ths one.
_Surface pro 7: this is one of Microsoft's latest device,it is a touch screen device with Surface pen, type cover and other accessories.
It has 12.3 inche display with a 267 ppi,
Intel Core 13-1005G1,i5-1035G4,i7-1065G7
Processor, I've already mentioned the surface pen, 45wh battery which get up to 10.5 hrs of battery life. The refresh rate ma be small compared to the iPadz but it still gets the job done. The surface pro 6 is also good for drawing and note taking.
Samsung Galaxy tab S4: This also an excellent device for taking notes and drawing. The best part is the inclusion of a s-pen other than pay extra cash for it just like Microsoft and apple stylus. It has 10.5 inche screen ,Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 (10
nm) chipset,
Octa-core (4x2.35 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz
Kryo) CPU , 7500 mAh battery which can give you up to 16hrs of battery life.
It's packed with interesting features which makes it very special , the s-pen is has no battery of it own , good pressure sensitivity and wireless connection.
Huawei matepad:. Huawei has been pushing so hard towards creating amazing devices and other gadgets.
The Huawei matepad is a good example of a tablet for education and entertainment.it resembles the iPad pros on the exterior ,it has a nice premium design and finishing which makes it look very cool and classic to look at.
It's an Android tablet without Google play services.its equipped with a Kirin 810 chipset, 10.1 display size, 7250mAh battery.
The best and outstanding characteristics of this tablet is the slim bezels and I think it'll be huge selling point
You can get it in various configurations and colours.
Since the rapid advancements in technology there has been a tremendous and remarkable shift from the styles and systems of how works are done especially in areas in education, art and entertainment.
People now prefer working and drawing directly on a device rather than paper or canvas ,although paper works have their own part to play but with the increase in knowledge and technology one may decide to make it much simpler by performing the duties directly on a screen display.
The Surface studio is a good machine for artists and architects or anyone into art work or creating animations
The four tablets mentioned are great for the task but you still have the other options like the tab s6, Huawei MediaPad M5 Pro,
iPad pro12.9 (2015).
If you have a tablet without a custom stylus you may decide to get universal stylus pen or pencil to get your work going.
