Tech companies put more effort in creating better products,but the major cause of the increased input of effort is competition and not just merely trying to create high end products. No one wants average or low  quality product,in that case more research needs to be done towards creating a better future and standard of making them. Research work is said to be the first in production process, a proper and accurate research keeps the whole features in place thereby creating a better ground for smooth operation
Research doesn't end at the first stage,it continues even to the end of production making it one of the most essential  steps on manufacturing process. 
All these stages or steps involved also contributes in determining the price of each commodity although other factors are to be put into account accordingly to avoid any loose of profits. 
We noticed a massive change in the pattern and mode of production currently especially in computer technology, the thinner these products get the better and more powerful it becomes over the day. In the past, what you'll see is a big size computer with separate components connected together with cables. As at that period they were the best devices with the best performance but you can't really compare them with the current sleek gadgets coming out now.
New methods and strategies have been put in place with the sole aim of creating something smaller ,better  and portable with high power and efficiency, this has more advantage in the sense that it helps in save production materials and time wasted in building huge hardwares.
Back then, metals and analogue systems were depended on for almost everything  concerning manufacturing industries and others. 
Mechanical engineering were utilized  the most in the past but currently , they've been a shift, not actually a shift or drifting.instead,it's more like a combination of mechanical and electronic engineering in creating a new form of engineering which is utilized for industrial purposes. 
Our main focus here is the  change going on which I think should be carefully accessed to avoid creating an uncontrollable condition.
